The weather has been truly awful the last little while. Never ending rain teaming up with cold wind, their sole mission: to ruin lives! I’ve waved my white flag and retreated indoors, my camera impotently sits on a shelf, all my nondescript, waterproof coats are happily being used.
Talking to inanimate objects, this may be the first stages of wet coast cabin fever. Stay tuned!
Anyways, all this time indoors has allowed me to get some projects out of the way! Huzzahhhh! My first project was inspired by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s necklace in the picture below. I’m pretty sure anyone looking at the photo doesn’t even notice a necklace, perhaps because it is so tiny, perhaps because she isn’t wearing a shirt, most likely the latter. I fell in love with the necklace though, so simple, so modern, so DIY-able!
I took two necklaces, both very tiny but different styles, and one round flat bead.
I removed the clasps from the sparklier of the two necklaces and used a string to attach one end to the bead. Then I simply tied the string very tightly to the second, smaller chain, tied a few knots then trimmed the string.
I really couldn’t be happier with the results, it is simple, yet the different textures of the two chains and the single bead is exactly my esthetic. The necklace hangs down almost to my hips, creating a unique look that makes my daily uniform look more interesting. It would also look amazing with a simple, low v-neck dress.
More fun DIY projects coming up!
Thanks for stopping by, stay dry!
