Holi Happy

Welcome to out little Holi celebration! If you are unfamiliar with Holi,  it’s a Hindu festival rooted in religious myths and legends which celebrates the coming of spring, fertile land, and saying farewell to winter. This day is considered to be the happiest and most colourful day of the year promoting harmony and equality for all who gather to celebrate. Enemies become friends, rich and poor become neighbours, and grudges are forgotten. Did I mention you get to throw coloured powder at each other!!??

The beautiful message of the celebration and the colour throwing had me hooked, and on the first spring like day, Erica and I ran around laughing and pelting each other with paint! It was so much fun (minus getting paint EVERYWHERE) and now I can’t wait to celebrate it every year!

I think we can all learn from the Holi celebration and treat each other with kindness, but not just once a year, let’s try everyday! Another lesson is we should always throw coloured powder at each other when the opportunity arises! ALWAYS!

We took sooo many great images that day, so watch out for more in the next few weeks!!

Below is a silly video to commemorate this fine day! hehe

(The song used is Aa Tayar Hoja from the bollywood movie Asoka. The movie is amazing and it also features a holi festival!)

Later gaters!
