In my years as a competitive figure skater I’ve tried just about every drug store lipstick out there (you require a full face of questionably offensive makeup just to be seen from the stands), but no colour would ever stick to my skin, and I would rub it off the moment I stepped off the ice. Even lately I found that my Mac and Nars colours would flake off or clump, but I blame my face not the product!
After Joe Fresh sent me a few spring shades of their matte lipstick I thought I might as well give it a go …… and I fell in love! The lipstick goes on more like a high pigment glaze while not being gooey or too shiny. I found that it started to fade after a few hours, but I found that a touch of chapstick applied within a few hours really punched up the colour again.
I’m not going to say that this product is better, but I’ve been reaching for it almost everyday since I got it, and it’s taken the place of my old Nars favourites. If you have a problem with other products getting clumpy or flakey I highly recommend this one, plus it’s only $6! I’m wearing the Raspberry shade, but I’m probably going to buy a handful of other colours and try them out! Stay tuned!
