DIY Purse Vase

What’s a girl to do when someone leaves a very expensive Louis Vuitton purse lying around? Turn it into a vase of course! What started as “that would be a cool picture,” turned into a DIY that I really love! It’s a great way to display vintage purses that might otherwise be left on a dusty shelf somewhere.

You can display it on a desk or counter…

Or stack on top of vintage suitcases / old chairs to brighten up a corner.

tools needed:

- a vintage purse

- a few books

- loads of flowers! I used three vases and several loose flowers. Have fun with colour and texture!

1. Take a few old books and lay them on the bottom of the purse, this will add height and weight to your arrangement.

2. Add the vases of flowers to the purse, you want them to fit snug so they don’t fall over and spill water.

3. Have fun adding single flowers into the arrangement, I made sure to add some to the very sides so they appear to be spilling out.

4. Display your arrangement for all to see!

When I’m not drinking glittery coffee or making crafts I’m lucky enough to work at an incredible studio collective, ma-luxe studios. I can’t even remember life before I met these incredible women, but I can tell you it was far less exciting and beautiful. Yesterday we launched our online magazine mal-uxe mag and I’ve never been so proud of a site. I also filmed a video for the studio’s 2014 alumni shoot which really captures the hard work, resilience and fierce beauty of these women. Check out the video and be sure to visit the site, it’s beyond inspiring!

Leftover

After ripping the petals from a sea of roses, I was mesmerized at what was left behind. I love the irregular shapes, condensed layers and the pink and green hues.

A rose with no petals would smell as sweet!

I love noticing the unnoticed, and the beauty that resides within that space. I’d love to know what unwanted but beautiful details you guys notice and love.

I’m happy to share with everyone out there that I’m part of a huge project that’s coming very very soon!

The company I work with is launching an online magazine/ blog hybrid that is going to blow people’s minds. In addition to building the site, I’ll be a regular content contributer. I’m so lucky to be working side by side with the most talented, chic, discerning, superstar women I’ve ever met.

I love these photos so much, and when I look at them all I can hear is the epic, haunting melancholy of Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah.” Basically my whole life revolves around making beautiful things, and if I can make anything as moving as my favourite songs…I’ll be complete.

What inspires you guys? I’d LOVE to know!
